Indoor Air & Comfort that work with Google Home: the 16 that do, and what each one can't do
16 of the 19 indoor air & comfort in our library work with Google Home: 9 for everything they list, and 7 with an exception named on each. Every one of them is listed here with the catch that applies on Google Home specifically — the setup it needs, what stays stuck in the vendor's own app, and where Google Home's automations can't reach a capability the device has.

Work for everything they list
IKEA ALPSTUGA Air Quality Sensor
Google is named in the same first-party sentence and rests on the same Matter 1.3 Air Quality Sensor certificate. A Google Nest speaker or display of a recent generation supplies the Thread border router; an older Chromecast or a bare phone does not.
Automations Google Home's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Air quality reading, Humidity reading and Temperature reading.
SwitchBot Evaporative Humidifier
Google Home adds it over Matter: SwitchBot names Google Home in its Matter sentence and certifies this humidifier for Matter as a fan, and Google lists fans among the Matter devices it supports, so On/off and Fan mode work. The humidity target does not travel over Matter and stays in SwitchBot's app. SwitchBot's footnote says Matter support needs a SwitchBot Hub.
Automations Google Home's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Fan mode, Humidity reading and On/off and 1 more.
Dyson Purifier Cool PC2 De-NOx
Works over Matter: Dyson's 'Compatible with Matter' section names Google Home, and the Purifier Cool De-NOx is Matter certified as an air purifier. Google's Matter list marks air purifiers as controllable in the Google Home app only, not by Google Assistant voice and not on a Smart Display, so on and off and fan speed are app controls on Google. Dyson does not list voice commands for any platform, and its app footnote points to the MyDyson app for compatible voice services.
Automations Google Home's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Air quality reading, Fan mode and On/off.
SwitchBot Air Purifier
Google Home adds it over Matter: SwitchBot certifies this purifier for Matter, and Google lists air purifiers among the Matter devices it supports, with On/off and Fan mode. Google offers that control in the Google Home app, not by voice or on a Smart Display. SwitchBot does not name Google Home for this model.
Automations Google Home's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Fan mode and On/off.
Hunter Aerodyne Indoor Smart Fan with LED Light, 52 inch (51314)
Documented on the same footing as Alexa and with the same account-linking shape: register and set up the fan in the HunterSMART app first, then 'Under Settings, select Connect with Google' and follow the Google Assistant flow. Hunter's specification table lists Google Home in the same 'Works With' line as Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Recorded full because the route and its mechanism are both published first-party. ⚠ THE ASYMMETRY IS WORTH NAMING THOUGH: Hunter illustrates what Alexa can do with example commands and never does the same for Google, so what the Google route carries is inferred from the fan having the same capabilities on the other side rather than stated. If Google is your household's assistant and setting a specific speed by voice is the point, that specific behaviour is undocumented. Hunter's marketing also uses 'Google Assistant' and 'Google Home' interchangeably across the two product descriptions read for this record.
Hunter Aerodyne Indoor Smart Fan ENERGY STAR with LED Light, 60 inch (52832)
Documented on the same footing as Alexa and with the same account-linking shape: 'To setup your smart fan to work with the Google Home platform, you must first register and set up your device using our HunterSMART app', then 'Under "Settings", select "Connect with Google"' and follow the Google flow. The fan's specification table lists Google Home in the same 'HunterSMART Works With' row as Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Recorded full because both the route and its mechanism are published first-party. Hunter's help page for Google gives example commands: setting the fan to high, turning the light on, lowering the fan speed, raising the light's brightness and asking whether the fan is off. ⚠ Each one starts with 'Hey Google, talk to HunterSMART', after which the assistant lists your fans and asks what to do, so you open Hunter's conversation first rather than speaking to the fan by name. Hunter's own copy also moves between 'Google Assistant' and 'Google Home' without distinguishing them.
Hunter Techne Indoor Smart Fan with 4 Lights, 52 inch (52310/52311/52312)
Published on the same footing as Alexa: 'To setup your smart fan to work with the Google Home platform, you must first register and set up your device using our HunterSMART app', then 'Under Settings, select Connect with Google' and follow the Google Assistant flow. The product page's specification table lists Google Home in the same 'Works With' row as Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Recorded full because both the route and its mechanism are first-party documented. ⚠ THE GAP IS CAPABILITY, NOT EXISTENCE: Hunter illustrates Alexa with example commands and never does the same for Google, so what reaches the fan on that side is inferred rather than stated. Hunter's own copy on this product also switches between 'Google Assistant' in the description and 'Google Home' in the feature bullet, which is loose naming rather than two different things.
Big Ass Fans Haiku Ceiling Fan
Works in Google Home over Matter: this model carries a Matter certificate, and Google Home controls On/off and Fan mode on Matter fans. Big Ass Fans also lists Google Home for voice control without saying how it connects.
Automations Google Home's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Fan mode, Motion detected and On/off and 1 more.
Levoit OasisMist 450S Smart Humidifier
Works through VeSync's link to Google Assistant, on the same footing as Alexa. Levoit's manual for this model names Google Assistant beside Alexa, connected from the VeSync app, for voice commands. It names no specific commands, so mist level and target humidity by voice are not stated. The link runs through VeSync's servers and needs your own VeSync account rather than the app's guest account.
Work, with an exception
Airthings View Plus
Works, except air quality reading
Airthings connects the View Plus to Google Home when you link your Airthings account through Works with Google in the Google Home app, and the monitor then appears in the Google Home app. You can ask Google for the humidity, the CO2 level or the overall air quality of a room. Radon, the reading this monitor is sold for, is the exception: Airthings says Google Home can't be asked about radon directly, though radon counts toward the overall air quality answer. Airthings doesn't mention temperature for Google Home.
Levoit EverestAir-P Smart Air Purifier
Works; on/off and fan mode unconfirmed
Levoit says you connect this purifier to Google Assistant through the VeSync app, so it reaches Google Home through your VeSync account. Levoit doesn't say what Google can do with it, so turning it on and off and changing the fan mode from Google Home are unconfirmed, and whether Google shows its air-quality readings isn't stated.
Big Ass Fans i6 Ceiling Fan
Works, except fan direction
Works in Google Home over Matter, except Fan direction: this model carries a Matter certificate, and Google Home controls On/off and Fan mode on Matter fans. Google's list of what Google Home supports over Matter leaves out fan direction, so Fan direction is missing in Google Home. Big Ass Fans also lists the Google Assistant for voice control without saying how it connects.
Dreo Smart Tower Fan Pilot Max S 714S
Works per the maker; details unconfirmed
Dreo lists Google Home beside its own app for this fan. It does not say how the fan connects to Google Home or what Google Home can do with it, so on/off and fan mode are unconfirmed there.
Big Ass Fans Haiku Outdoor Ceiling Fan
Works per the maker; details unconfirmed
Big Ass Fans lists Google Home among the platforms this fan works with. It does not say how the fan links to Google Home or what Google Home can do with it, so on/off and fan mode are unconfirmed there. Big Ass Fans ties Matter to Apple Home only.
Dreo Smart Humidifier 524S
Works per the maker; details unconfirmed
Dreo lists Google Home beside its own app for this humidifier. It does not say how the humidifier connects to Google Home or what Google Home can do with it, so even on/off is unconfirmed there. Dreo describes its Auto Mode, which holds humidity within ±5%, as a feature of the machine and the app.
Awair Element
Works per the maker; details unconfirmed
Awair lists Google Assistant among the three platforms it supports, with IFTTT and Amazon Alexa. It does not say how the Element connects to Google Assistant or which of its readings Google Assistant can use, so the air quality, temperature and humidity readings are unconfirmed there.
If your home isn’t only Google Home
Of the 9 in the first group, these counts show how many also have full recorded support in each other system. The remaining products may have limits, no supported route, or unconfirmed support; these counts do not establish what extra equipment would solve the gap.
- Apple Home: 3 of 9 · 6 without full recorded support
- Amazon Alexa: 8 of 9 · 1 without full recorded support
- SmartThings: 4 of 9 · 5 without full recorded support
- Home Assistant: 5 of 9 · 4 without full recorded support
