Blinds, Shades & Curtains that work with Amazon Alexa: the 10 that do, and what each one can't do
10 of the 11 blinds, shades & curtains in our library work with Amazon Alexa: 7 for everything they list, and 3 with an exception named on each. Every one of them is listed here with the catch that applies on Amazon Alexa specifically — the setup it needs, what stays stuck in the vendor's own app, and where Amazon Alexa's automations can't reach a capability the device has.

Work for everything they list
Zemismart MTP1 Matter over Thread Blind Driver
Named in the feature block's 'Supports HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings for easy remote & voice control' and absent from the description's enumeration, which lists HomeKit, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. The two lists on this page do not match, and the union is taken rather than the intersection because neither list denies what the other names - each is an incomplete enumeration rather than a contradiction. Reaching Alexa requires an Echo device that is both a Thread border router and a Matter controller; Zemismart names no such requirement and no specific device.
Automations Amazon Alexa's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Open/close.
Aqara Curtain Driver E1
Named on all three Aqara surfaces, as 'Alexa' and 'Amazon Alexa'. Requires the Aqara hub and account-linking, which means an Alexa routine that opens the curtain depends on the internet being up as well as on the hub being online.
Eve MotionBlinds Upgrade Kit for Roller Blinds
Reached as a standard Matter accessory. Eve's hub table names Echo (4th gen), Echo Dot Max, Echo Hub, Echo Plus (2nd gen), Echo Show 8 (3rd gen or later), Echo Show 10 (3rd gen), Echo Show 11, Echo Show 15 (2nd gen), Echo Show 21, Echo Studio and the eero 6/6+/7/Max 7/Pro 6/6E/7 line as devices that carry both Matter control and a Thread border router. The generation numbers are worth reading rather than skipping — an older Echo Show 8 of the same name is on Eve's second list, the one for devices that do Matter but not Thread. Eve's launch announcement names Alexa among the voice assistants. The Eve app's advanced scheduling features do not come with it.
Automations Amazon Alexa's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Open/close.
SmartWings Motorized Roller Shades 100% Blackout (Essential, Matter-over-Thread motor)
Named by SmartWings for the Matter-over-Thread motor this record covers: that motor is described as compatible with 'Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Google Assistant'. ⚠ The claim is the vendor's and is scoped to the MOTOR, not to a shade in your window — pick a different motor at checkout and this cell does not describe what you bought. SmartWings names the platform without enumerating which behaviours cross over, so nothing beyond the relationship is asserted.
Automations Amazon Alexa's Matter page lists this kind of device; its automations can use Open/close.
SwitchBot Roller Shade
Named in SwitchBot's own description, under a heading that states the condition: 'Matter and smart home integration (SwitchBot Hub 2 required)', then 'Compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcuts, and more'. Conditional on owning that hub, and sourced to SwitchBot alone — no Amazon document confirms what a bridged shade exposes. Worth knowing that this used to rest on two SwitchBot surfaces: a specification table said the same thing until SwitchBot stopped publishing it on this page, and the description is now the only place the promise is made.
RYSE SmartShade (Wired)
Same two RYSE sentences and the same SmartBridge condition. RYSE writes 'Amazon Alexa' on both pages and describes the result as voice control rather than as a skill, a routine trigger or a state report, so the cell records that the platform can operate the shade and stops there. Sourced to RYSE alone.
Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1
Named on both enumerations, as 'Amazon Alexa' and 'Alexa'. Runs through the Aqara hub and an account link, which means a routine that raises the shade depends on the internet being up as well as the hub being online. Read the ecosystem footnote below alongside this cell: Aqara states that its ecosystem support applies only on the global servers of the Aqara Home app.
Work, with an exception
SwitchBot Blind Tilt
Works; tilt and open/close unconfirmed
SwitchBot says Alexa can control these blinds once a SwitchBot hub is in place (the Hub Mini or another SwitchBot hub), but it does not say which controls Alexa gets: tilt and open/close are both unconfirmed through Alexa.
SwitchBot Curtain 3
Works; position unconfirmed
Works through a SwitchBot hub: SwitchBot says that with a hub you can use voice commands via Alexa, so opening and closing the curtain works there. Setting how far it opens is unconfirmed on Alexa: SwitchBot names the open percentage only in its own app. SwitchBot does not say which hub models qualify.
Lutron Serena Smart Shades
Works; position unconfirmed
Works only through Lutron's Caseta Smart Hub, sold separately: Lutron lists Alexa among the platforms that hub works with. Position is unconfirmed on Alexa: Lutron's Alexa description mentions lights only and does not say whether you can set the shade to a chosen height from Alexa.
If your home isn’t only Amazon Alexa
Of the 7 in the first group, these counts show how many also have full recorded support in each other system. The remaining products may have limits, no supported route, or unconfirmed support; these counts do not establish what extra equipment would solve the gap.
