Roborock and Dreame: documented smart home differences

Illustration of two robot vacuums facing a row of platform badges, with one solid connecting line and several dashed lines

For these four robots, compare the integration you can document before paying for a promised update. SHWF has not tested their cleaning performance, obstacle handling or security.

This comparison covers Roborock Saros Z70 and Dreame’s L50 Ultra, L60 Ultra PE and X60 Max Ultra Complete. It does not rank the brands’ whole ranges.

Matter claims have different evidence

ModelRecorded Matter positionBuying condition
Saros Z70Upcoming firmware stated; generic certificates not tied to this modelDo not plan Apple Home around an undated update
L50 UltraExact-model certificate; firmware described as upcomingCertification does not establish delivery
L60 Ultra PEMatter advertised without a matching certified software versionAsk for a shipped version and exact-model setup instructions
X60 Max Ultra CompleteUpcoming firmware stated; reviewed certificates name X50Do not transfer a previous generation’s certificate

These are dated record findings, not a new check that firmware remains unshipped everywhere. A Matter badge must be matched to model, software and controller support.

Home Assistant has one documented route here

Home Assistant’s documented Saros route covers the series, rather than naming Z70 individually. Its Roborock integration uses local commands and polling, with cloud access required for setup and fallback. Its 2026.3 release documents area cleaning for the integration; that is not a promise of every device-specific function.

The three Dreame records leave Home Assistant unknown. Community projects for other models do not establish support for these exact robots. If that route is essential, resolve it before ordering.

Voice commands are not equal across the four

L50 Ultra documents start, pause, dock and room routines configured in Dreamehome for Alexa and Google. L60 Ultra PE claims start, stop and adjustment without a fuller command list. X60 and Z70 name voice platforms without itemising the commands.

Siri and Apple Watch app functions are separate from a robot appearing in Apple Home. SmartThings remains unknown for all four in the records. Do not infer start/stop or room control from a logo alone.

Roborock documents some on-device voice commands without a network. That does not establish that mapping, schedules and other platform routes remain usable in an outage. Dreame’s X60 wake-word feature does not settle its outage behaviour either.

Read security findings within their scope

The Dreame records cite a 2025 CISA advisory about Dreamehome app certificate handling, not a flaw proven in each robot. They also cite a September 2025 Korean assessment of the brand. The camera-activation finding concerned X50 Ultra, not these three models.

Roborock was not among the three brands named for weak authentication in that assessment, but that is not a clean bill of health. Its Z70 certification and camera-default statements are manufacturer claims, not an independent SHWF security assessment.

See the camera privacy guide for the distinction between on-device processing, image storage and remote viewing.

Before choosing

Confirm the required command, current firmware and account requirements. Check robot clearance, dock space, water handling and consumables in the exact manual; specification figures are not our performance measurements. The robot directory and checker show the researched routes and open questions.

Frequently asked questions

Does either brand’s Matter claim establish Apple Home support?

Not for the four models compared here. The records distinguish upcoming firmware, exact certificates and unmatched filings. Siri app commands are separate from an accessory in Apple Home.

What is documented for Home Assistant?

Home Assistant names the Saros series, which includes Z70, with local commands but cloud setup and fallback. The three Dreame models have no established maker-supported or official Home Assistant route in our records.
