And it does not replace the standard Bridge in Signify's line-up: both are still sold, so the $149.99 buys headroom you may not need if your system is small.

Who it's for

A large Hue installation that has outgrown the standard Bridge — past its light or scene ceiling, or slow to respond — and households wanting MotionAware, which turns lights already on the wall into motion sensors instead of buying more hardware. A small Hue setup gets the same lights and the same app from the cheaper standard Bridge.
