• Home Assistant: Reachable, but only by a route Pentair neither publishes nor supports. There is no Home Assistant core integration; the working path is the community HACS component tikotzky/homeassistant-pentair-intelliconnect, whose own README states it is "reverse-engineered from the official Pentair Home mobile app; there is no public Pentair API" and that it "authenticates against the same AWS Cognito user pool as the app". It rides Pentair's cloud, so the capabilities above die with Pentair's backend, with the account, or with any change Pentair makes to its app's API. Maintenance reality^[2][6]

• Works without the internet: No — the core function depends on the vendor's servers, so an outage takes it with them.^[6]
• Fully cloud+WiFi dependent for remote control (no local API); shows 'Offline' in-app after 60 minutes without WiFi, though equipment keeps running its schedule. 2.4 GHz only
• Security updates: No security-update support date is on record for this model yet. We haven't yet checked whether Pentair publishes one, so this is a gap in our research — not a statement about the manufacturer.

The catch

A monitoring-and-scheduling box, not an automation panel: ~5 functions via two relays + RS-485 (pump, heater, one light, IntelliChlor) — no valve actuators, so no pool/spa switching. Zero voice/smart-home integration of any kind, officially confirmed. Within Pentair's own line, IntelliCenter Lite (from ~$1,300 street) now squeezes it from above.

A simple single-body Pentair-equipped pool (pump + heater + light + salt cell) wanting app control and alerts at entry-level cost — not for spa switching or any smart-home tie-in.
