• Mains-powered over USB-A (5 V, 0.5 A) — no batteries. Radios as published: Zigbee/Thread on IEEE 802.15.4, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 b/g/n/ax, 2.4 GHz only) with WPA3, and BLE 5.2. Aqara's own wording on the local/cloud split, and it is the caveat worth reading before treating this as a local-only hub: automations for Zigbee and Matter devices execute locally on your network, while features such as remote push notifications still require a cloud connection.
• Security updates: Aqara declares security updates for this model until December 31, 2026 (UK-declared — the maker's legal commitment is filed for the United Kingdom). After that date the product keeps working; the manufacturer simply has no stated obligation to keep issuing security fixes.^[10][11]
