This is the ST8O-2.0 — the OUTDOOR model, IPX4-rated, 7.88 x 7.88 x 3.25 in. The ST8I-2.0 is the INDOOR model with no weather rating and a smaller 6.25-inch body, and the ST8I-INTL and ST8O-AUS are the 230 V international versions. The catch
Two things the spec sheet says quietly. First, the WiFi story is ambiguous in the vendor's own words: the timer is described as 'WiFi-ready out-of-the-box with the LNK2 WiFi Module', while the box contents list is 'timer, transformer with 6 ft. cord, mounting hardware, and installation guide' — no module named. Read those two lines together before assuming the app works on day one. Second, and more consequential for a self-hosted household: Home Assistant's own Rain Bird integration is local-polling and genuinely good, but it documents the older LNK module and warns that 'The new Rain Bird 2.0 App and Firmware is not compatible with Home Assistant' because the upgrade migrates devices to Rain Bird's IQ4 cloud. This product is the 2.0 generation. Nobody — not Rain Bird, not Home Assistant — states whether those two '2.0's are the same thing, so a Home Assistant buyer is being asked to guess. ⊕ The good news the sheet does state: the schedule lives on the timer in 'Non-Volatile (100-year) program memory', it is 'Programmable at timer interface under battery power', and manual watering by zone or all zones is available at the box.
Who it's for

It is a poor fit for an Apple Home or SmartThings household, where Rain Bird documents nothing, and it is a risky fit for a Home Assistant household until the 2.0-firmware question above is answered.
