Leviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer, 2nd Gen (D26HD)

Leviton's own store no longer carries a page for this dimmer at all, and the product page that remains on its main site shows no price — both consistent with a product Leviton has discontinued.

The switch is discontinued, and it still works: Leviton replaced it with the D36HD, while the app, the cloud service and the Matter firmware path all keep running. A product can be off the shelves and fully supported at the same time, which is exactly this case. Discontinued in favor of the D36HD, and Matter is not out of the box: it arrives via an opt-in Early Access firmware update through the My Leviton app, and applying it breaks an existing Apple HomeKit pairing until the device is re-added over Matter.

Only for the Matter path, and Leviton is explicit about it. Its Matter support article requires enrolment "to a Matter enabled hub" and names "a supported Google Nest, Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod, or SmartThings device" as examples; for Apple it states outright that controlling Matter accessories with the Apple Home app and Siri "requires an Apple Home hub such as a HomePod or Apple TV running the latest software". The Wi-Fi / My Leviton path needs none of this, which is why required is false rather than true.[7][16][18][21][22][29]
