DiscontinuedLeviton Decora Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer, 2nd Gen (D26HD)
Compatibility
| Ecosystem | Support | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Alexa | WorksWorks with this ecosystem | Cloud skill via My Leviton account; Leviton states existing cloud integrations are not impacted by the Matter update, so both paths can coexist. |
| Google Home | WorksWorks with this ecosystem | Cloud integration via My Leviton account; Matter is an alternative path. |
| Apple Home | WorksWorks with this ecosystem | Native HomeKit on stock firmware. Installing the Matter firmware removes the existing HomeKit connection; the dimmer must be re-added to Apple Home with its Matter pairing code from the My Leviton app. |
| SmartThings | WorksWorks with this ecosystem | Listed by Leviton among supported ecosystems; cloud-linked, with Matter as an alternative path. |
| Home Assistant | PartialPartial support — see the catch | No official Leviton integration. The community decora_wifi integration is cloud-polling, flagged legacy, and does not list the D26HD. The documented route is the Matter firmware plus Home Assistant's Matter integration. |
Protocols: WIFI · MATTER
Subscription reality
✓ Works without a subscription: Yes.
My Leviton app, schedules, scenes, and remote access are free; no subscription tier documented on Leviton's product or support pages.
Maintenance reality
- Cloud dependence: No — core function survives without the vendor's cloud
- Neutral wire required (stated in Leviton's own product title). 2.4 GHz WiFi only. Loads: 300 W dimmable LED/CFL, 600 W incandescent. Multi-location control only via Leviton companions (DD00R wired or DAWDC Anywhere wire-free), not standard 3-way wiring. My Leviton app + account handle setup, firmware, and the cloud voice-assistant links; native HomeKit and Matter control are local. The Matter path requires opting into Leviton's Matter Early Access Program in the app: firmware 1.4.8+ first, then Matter firmware 2.1.0 or later.
Who it's for
A fit for households with a neutral wire that want a 600 W-incandescent/300 W-LED dimmer working across Alexa, Google, SmartThings, and Apple Home, and are comfortable managing firmware on a discontinued-but-supported model; buyers starting fresh may prefer its D36HD successor.
