Amazon AlexaWorksWorks with this ecosystemListed in Leviton's spec sheet works-with row.
Google HomeWorksWorks with this ecosystemListed as 'Hey Google' in Leviton's spec sheet.
Apple HomeWorksWorks with this ecosystemHomeKit is listed on the spec sheet, but taking Leviton's Matter firmware update REMOVES the existing HomeKit connection and forces re-pairing via a Matter code. Choosing Matter and keeping HomeKit are not both available.
SmartThingsWorksWorks with this ecosystemListed in Leviton's spec sheet works-with row.
Home AssistantDoesn't workVerified: does not work with this ecosystemHome Assistant's Leviton integration page documents Z-Wave models only (DZ6HD, DZ15S, ZW4SF, DZPD3, DZPA1, ZW15R). No official core integration covers the Decora Smart Wi-Fi line, and Leviton does not list Home Assistant.

Protocols: WIFI · BLUETOOTH

Needs before it works: No hub or bridge. The spec sheet states it connects directly to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Schedules and settings are stored on the device and continue to run during an internet outage; app and voice control go through the My Leviton cloud.

Subscription reality

✓ Works without a subscription: Yes.

No subscription, tier, or paywall appears on the product page, the Leviton store listing, or the spec sheet. Established by absence across three manufacturer surfaces rather than by an affirmative statement.

Maintenance reality

The catch

It controls the fan motor only. Leviton's spec sheet states it is not for use with lighting loads or combined ceiling fan light kits, so a fan with an integrated light needs a second device. A neutral wire is required. Leviton's own sources also disagree about Matter: the product page advertises it, while Leviton's Matter support article lists only four devices and this is not among them.

Who it's for

Households on Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, or SmartThings who want hub-free Wi-Fi control of a ceiling fan motor and have a neutral wire. Not a fit for Home Assistant users, for fans with integrated light kits controlled from one switch, or for anyone relying on the advertised Matter support before Leviton resolves its own documentation.
