Needs before it works: No hub or bridge. The spec sheet states it connects directly to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Schedules and settings are stored on the device and continue to run during an internet outage; app and voice control go through the My Leviton cloud.^[3]

• Alexa: Leviton names the speeds Alexa can set, which is stronger than a generic works-with badge: "Use your voice to control ceiling fan speeds (low, medium, high, and max) from compatible Alexa devices such as an Amazon Echo, Echo Show, the Alexa app, or the Decora Smart Voice Dimmer with Amazon Alexa Built-In."

Maintenance reality

• Works without the internet: Partly — some of it keeps working and some of it does not. See the detail below.^[1]
• Neutral wire required. Fan motor rated 1.5 A max at 120 VAC 60 Hz; split-capacitor or shaded-pole motors only. Standard wall box, 1.31 in device depth. Multi-way supported via DD00R/DD0SR wired companions or DAWDC/DAWSC wire-free Anywhere Companions (5-year battery). 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. Two-year limited warranty.
• Security updates: No security-update support date is on record for this model yet. We haven't yet checked whether Leviton publishes one, so this is a gap in our research — not a statement about the manufacturer.

The catch

It controls the fan motor only. Leviton's spec sheet states it is not for use with lighting loads or combined ceiling fan light kits, so a fan with an integrated light needs a second device. A neutral wire is required. Leviton's own sources also disagree about Matter: the product page advertises it, while Leviton's Matter support article lists only four devices and this is not among them.

Who it's for

Households on Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, or SmartThings who want hub-free Wi-Fi control of a ceiling fan motor and have a neutral wire. Not a fit for Home Assistant users, for fans with integrated light kits controlled from one switch, or for anyone relying on the advertised Matter support before Leviton resolves its own documentation.
