Degraded affects IFTTT only, and the power strip itself is unimpaired. Alexa, Google Home and the community Home Assistant integration are unaffected and remain current; local control is untouched. Apple Home was never supported on this product and is unchanged by this. What changed is that a third-party automation route TP-Link used to advertise stopped working on 2026-08-01 by vendor decision rather than by failure. TP-Link points users to the 'Smart Action' feature inside its own apps, which is a substitute within TP-Link rather than the cross-vendor glue IFTTT provided — a household that chose this device to drive an automation in some other service lost that, and nothing in the Kasa or Tapo app replaces it.
