One nuance: Inovelli documents direct Zigbee binding between a Blue Series wall switch (VZM31-SN or VZM35-SN) and this module, which it describes as near-instantaneous and able to operate without the hub once configured — but a Zigbee coordinator is still needed to perform the initial pairing and binding. Hub-free operation is a post-setup state, not a hub-free product.[6][18]
