Needs before it works: A Zigbee hub is mandatory for all smart features; the switch ships with no hub and has no WiFi radio. Officially supported platforms per Inovelli's Hub Platform Compatibility Chart: SmartThings, Hubitat, Home Assistant (ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT), Homey, and Amazon Echo models that include a Zigbee radio. The Philips Hue Bridge is explicitly listed as not compatible.

- Cloud dependence: No — core function survives without the vendor's cloud
- Zigbee 3.0, 2.4 GHz, 120 VAC, indoor use. Neutral recommended but not mandatory: a no-neutral install requires a bypass at the fixture, which may also be needed with low-wattage loads if lights flicker or the switch reboots. Loads per product page: 600 W incandescent, 300 W LED, 150 W CFL. Works as a dimmer or on/off switch (2-in-1). Multi-way with a dumb toggle, an Inovelli Aux switch (AUX01), or another smart switch via Zigbee bindings. Local Zigbee control; cloud dependence is inherited from the hub platform, not the device.
The catch
Nothing works until it joins a Zigbee hub, and the officially supported list is narrow: SmartThings, Hubitat, Home Assistant, Homey, and Zigbee-radio Echo models. Apple Home, Google Home, and the Hue Bridge are explicitly listed as not compatible, and there is no shipped Matter support.
Who it's for
Hub-based smart home users, especially Home Assistant, Hubitat, and SmartThings households, who want one switch configurable as either a dimmer or an on/off switch, including no-neutral installs with a bypass. Not a fit for hubless setups or Apple Home and Google Home-centric homes.
