• Lights rated IP67, control box IP65; the power adapter is rated indoor-only per the product page. Mains AC powered. 100 ft carries 60 lights. Installed with supplied VHB adhesive and clips. Govee states the lights cannot be directly extended past 150 ft without a driver module, that "The 200ft kit includes a Govee driver module", and that total length must not exceed 200 ft. Anti-UV material, 50,000 h rated, -4 F to 140 F. Wi-Fi band is not stated on any Govee-owned page.
• Security updates: No security-update support date is on record for this model yet. We haven't yet checked whether Govee publishes one, so this is a gap in our research — not a statement about the manufacturer.

The catch

It is a genuinely permanent installation — VHB-adhered, cut to fit, with a hard 200 ft system ceiling and no direct extension past 150 ft without a separate driver module, which Govee ships only in the 200 ft kit. Removal and re-siting are not part of the design. 🔴 What this record got wrong until 2026-08-22: it recorded Govee's Matter claim as contradicted by Govee's own Matter FAQ, and held Apple Home and SmartThings at unknown on that basis. The FAQ is stale. CSA certified this family on 2023-07-21 (certificate CSA23891MAT41404-24, family SKU H706A, variant H706C), the certificate is published on Matter's Distributed Compliance Ledger, and the sibling variants H706B and H706C carry their own certificates dated the same day — more than a year before this record was created. Matter is real here, and so are the Apple Home and SmartThings routes it opens. ⊕ This model keeps the better Home Assistant option either way: Home Assistant's govee_light_local LAN integration names H706A, H706B and H706C outright, which is a local route that does not depend on Matter at all.

Who it's for

Homeowners committing to year-round permanent eave lighting, in essentially any ecosystem: Alexa and Google are named by Govee, Apple Home and SmartThings arrive over Matter on a certificate dating to 2023, and Home Assistant users get the richer option — the govee_light_local LAN integration, which names this model family explicitly and runs without the cloud once LAN control is enabled. Not a fit for renters or for anyone who may want to relocate the run: the installation is adhesive, cut-to-fit and designed to stay.
