Maintenance reality

- Powered from either a 5V DC supply or 24V AC per the spec table — no battery to maintain. Cloud dependence is not stated by the vendor in either direction on the surfaces read; Home Assistant classifies its cielo_home path as Cloud Polling, which describes that integration's transport, not the whole device, so nothing is asserted here.

The catch
It makes your AC smart by imitating its infrared remote — Cielo's own line is that it works with mini-split, window and portable ACs and heat pumps that have an IR remote. That mechanism is this shelf's defining trap: IR is one-way, so on window and portable units with physical buttons the app's idea of the AC's state and the AC's real state can drift apart the moment someone touches the unit, and Cielo — unlike its main competitor — publishes nothing about how or whether it handles that.
