The AI that most cameras rent to you monthly runs on this one's own silicon: the description has it identifying 'faces, vehicles, and audio alerts including alarms and baby cries, functioning independently during connectivity lapses' — a camera that keeps thinking when the internet stops is a different product from one that stops seeing.

Aqara states its security-update commitment for this model as a period rather than a date: at least 2 years of security updates from the launch day — Aqara's stated policy, qualified by the vendor to "certain device models" and carrying no published launch date for this model (the document this comes from names no country, so which markets it legally covers is not stated). That is a floor measured from a starting point the manufacturer sets — a launch or a purchase — rather than a fixed end date, so it cannot be placed on a calendar here. We record the commitment as the manufacturer states it, in our words, rather than converting it into a date it did not give. This is a published commitment, not a gap in our research.

Aqara states a support period and this model is named in its compliance library, so both halves of the usual problem are half-solved and neither is finished. The policy reads: we will maintain the security updates for at least 2 years from the launch day of certain device models. Two things stop that becoming a date here. First, the promise is qualified — "certain device models", not all — and Aqara does not say which. The hub half is real but quieter than the doorbell sibling's: Aqara names Zigbee, Thread and Matter here without publishing the device-count ceilings it publishes for the G350. And Aqara's platform list for this camera is shorter than for its own G350 — no SmartThings, no Home Assistant named — which is a difference between two cameras from one vendor, not a brand-wide fact you can look up once.

An outdoor camera for an Apple household that actually wants HomeKit Secure Video, or for anyone who would rather their camera's AI ran on the camera — it identifies faces, vehicles and alarm sounds locally and keeps working when the internet does not.
