⚠ Similar names, different products: Not the outdoor Camera Hub G5 Pro (aqara-camera-hub-g5-pro) and not the G410 doorbell — all three are 'hub' cameras from one vendor with different jobs, different platform lists and different Matter status. This is the pan-tilt dual-lens model, and it is the one Aqara calls its first Matter-certified camera.

No plan is needed, and Aqara names three storage paths in the order it recommends them: a 'MicroSD card (not included). CLASS 10 or above is supported, up to 512GB storage' supporting '24/7 recording'; then 'Record locally first, then back up to NAS'; and finally 'End-to-End encrypted cloud storage' requiring a HomeGuardian plan. The AI runs on the device — face, pet, gesture and sound recognition are processed locally — so the detection features that are usually the paywall here are not one. ⚠ For Apple households the HomeKit Secure Video path needs the buyer's own iCloud+ storage: Aqara states 'an iCloud+ plan, and an Apple Home hub are required'.

Maintenance reality

• Works without the internet: Not established — we have not sourced this yet. It does not mean the product fails without the internet.
• Mains device on a '5V⎓2A' input — nothing to charge, and continuous power is what makes the '24/7 recording' claim meaningful rather than event-only. Two physical details worth knowing because they are not software-fixable: it is a 360° pan-tilt camera, so it has a motor and moving parts, and its privacy mode is mechanical — Aqara describes 'a physical privacy mode with complete lens retraction' rather than a software shutter.

Aqara publishes no security-update support date for this model. That is a gap in what the manufacturer has published, not evidence either way — some makers declare a support period and some say nothing at all.

VERIFIED ABSENCE, earned by walking all three source rungs on 2026-08-19 rather than defaulted. (a) Aqara's own compliance library at aqara.com/en/security-certifications/ enumerates 59 products WITH their model numbers, and the Camera Hub G350 is not among them — this is an enumerated first-party index, not a search, which is what makes the absence evidence rather than silence. (b) Aqara's 2024-08 Product Security Support Policy table lists neither the product nor its model numbers. (c) The product's own page carries no security-update, end-of-support or patching statement of any kind. So Aqara publishes a support period for much of its range and has published none for this model. ⚠ This has a shelf life: Aqara adds statements to that library over time (the Doorbell Camera Hub G410's is dated May 2025, later than most), and UK PSTI obligations apply to products on sale — so the absence is a fact about today, not a permanent one.

The catch

Apple Home caps this camera at 1080p by Aqara's own statement, which is a striking thing to accept from a dual-lens 4K product — and HomeKit Secure Video additionally requires an iCloud+ plan and an Apple Home hub, so the Apple path costs money and hardware beyond the camera. The hub half also has a budget most listings gloss over: 80 Zigbee devices, or 40 Zigbee plus 40 Thread, so the two radios trade against each other rather than adding up. And the microSD card that makes the no-subscription story work is not included.

Who it's for

A household that wants one indoor device to be the camera and the hub — 360° pan-tilt with dual lenses and 9x hybrid zoom, plus a Matter 1.5 controller and Zigbee hub for up to 80 devices — with recordings kept on a card or a NAS rather than rented monthly. The broadest platform list of any camera in this catalogue, Apple Home and SmartThings and Home Assistant included, as long as you accept Apple's 1080p ceiling.
